About the Position: Vanderbilt University has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Business Intelligence Analyst. As an Associate Business Intelligence Analyst you will develop requirements for Business intelligence solutions with some guidance, and assist in utilizing BI tools to satisfy end user data needs and perform Data Analysis functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs functions related to requirements definition, dataanalysis and BI tool utilization.

  • Ensures appropriate documentation for all development andmodification.

  • Ensures integrity and security of institutional data.

Technical Capabilities

  • Business Intelligence Tools : Has lightexperience or exposure to the various commands and components of the tool. Understandsbasic concepts, symbols and conventions. May have successfully completedintroductory, essentials and concepts training or equivalent on-the-jobtraining.

  • Business Requirements Definition : Has light experience, training, direct exposure, or pastexperience working with Business Requirements Definition tasks. Familiar withthe steps necessary to complete a Business Requirements Definition for simplesystems for systems analysis and design, quality assurance and/or applicationstesting.

  • Data Analysis : Has some training,exposure, or light experience in data analysis. Assumes responsibility forroutine and entry-level client analytical work.Knowledge of various reporting analytic tools, such as ACL, SQL, SAS,etc.

  • Data Mining : Knowledge of data miningand data base environment and data base access tools. Has had training inbuilding data models. Is able to assemble the relevant data for successful datamining
