Position Summary

The Costing Analyst is part of the Office of Contract and Grant Accounting department at Vanderbilt University and will provide financial costing/accounting over site of Vanderbilt’s core operations, including responsibilities such as review and approval of proposed billing rates, perform monthly business close, ensure PCI compliance, track and resolve core deficit issues, track and resolve accounts receivable, track and administer all direct subsidies to cores, develop pricing model for internal and external users, manage CORES/iLab billing systems, provide support for conversion of remaining Cores to iLab billing system, and provide end user support and training. This position reports to and supports the Accounting Manager responsible for Cores within OCGA.

Key Functions and ExpectedPerformance

  • Provide support for generalfinancial oversight

  • Develop and maintain positiveworking relationships with various offices to support the COREactivity.

  • Assist in the review ofproposed billing rates, prices and scholarship amounts to ensurecompliance with federal regulations and institutional policy.

  • Monitor balances throughoutthe fiscal year to ensure established rates are in line with workingcapital requirements.

  • Format, design, and preparenon-routine financial reports and schedules (from simple to highlytechnical and complex) for the needs of various internal and externalusers.

  • Manage CORES/iLab Systems andprovide end user support

  • Core set up and maintenance,external account review and approval, account set up and maintenance, andtraining

  • Maintain website

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a similarly related field is required

  • 2 years of relevant experiencerequired

  • Knowledge of general accountingprinciples and procedures

  • Experience with setting up,troubleshooting, and creating solution in IT systems

  • Knowledge of websitedevelopment is highly desirable

  • Experiencewith Microsoft Office Programs; high level proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Access,PowerPoint, and Word

  • Excellent verbal and writtencommunication skills

  • Possess the capability tosimultaneously handle multiple priorities and ensure timely follow throughwith implementation
