Position Summary:

The Creative Consultant is part of the Vanderbilt University Information Technology (VUIT) Transition Management team at Vanderbilt University and is an individual contributor responsible for overseeing and facilitating the production of a wide array of creative materials for print and digital materials. This role will create designs and art elements for high-level projects throughout VUIT.

Vanderbilt University Transition Management Team, a division of VUIT, provides strategic and day-to-day operational support for the transition related projects across both VUIT and VUMC IT. One of the most critical pieces to the transition's success is the ability to communicate and share information with the Vanderbilt community as a whole.

Key Functions and Expected Performance:

  • Produces concepts, designs,layouts, and illustrations for a variety of communications materials forprint, with particular expertise for producing for digital platforms.

  • Presents and produces new andinnovative ideas for utilizing design in the digital space.

  • Edits and refines designs andrelated art and text until a successful product is achieved.

  • Collaborates with projectmanager, clients, and others to discuss ideas, note any alterations,budget limitations, deadlines, etc. before beginning production ofmaterials.

  • Produces infographics andrelated spot art.

  • Adhere to project deadlinesand maintain clear and constant communication with project managers.

  • Color corrects images andprepare art for print or digital applications.

  • Experience designing for videoand motion graphics capabilities is necessary.

  • 2 to 3 years of experience ingraphic design, marketing or with an agency is preferred.

  • Knowledge of principles andpractices of graphic design is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to create and producegraphic materials using a range of media, methods, techniques, andequipment is strongly preferred.

  • Ability to communicateeffectively, both orally and in writing is strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of graphic layoutand photographic requirements and procedures is strongly preferred.

  • Skill in the utilization ofspecified computerized graphic design programs is stronglypreferred.

Experience and Skills:
