About the Position:

The position involves work on a federally funded grant at the IRIS Center ( https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu at https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/ ), the primary mission of which is to develop and disseminate engaging, interactive online resources about working with all students, particularly those with disabilities. The Professional Development Coordinator will be responsible for increasing the numbers of schools and districts utilizing the various online PD options offered by the center, acting as liaison to school and district personnel enrolled in the IRIS School & District Platform, coordinating virtual and face-to-face trainings about IRIS Center resources, and seeking and maintaining approved-provider status in state and professional certification systems.

Position responsibilities:

· Targeted dissemination to/recruitment of schools and districts for enrollment in the IRIS School & District Platform ( https://iris.peabody.vanderbilt.edu/pd-hours/school-district-platform/

· Increasing center funding (i.e., via the IRIS School & District Platform)

· Following/facilitating the IRIS business development and growth plans

· Tracking success of partnership campaigns

· Traveling to districts to recruit/provide technical assistance and training

· Working within the Platform to enroll Schools, troubleshoot issues (some programming abilities, which we will provide training for)

· Providing telephone support and technical assistance for teachers, schools and districts using IRIS PD

· Assisting with dissemination/ outreach to expand IRIS awareness and reach

· Seeking approved-provider status for IRIS with states and professional organizations (e.g., BACB)

· Presenting at conferences (local, state, nationwide)

· Reviewing and developing educational resources

Qualifications:

· Background in special education; minimum of Master’s degree (required)

· At least two years experience as a teacher in a classroom setting (5-8 years preferable)

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills

· Availability for local and out-of-state travel

· Strong training and presentation skills

· Strong skills in key areas: organization, collaboration, interpersonal, communication, initiative, working independently, working with IRIS partners at a distance

· Willingness to learn processes, guidelines

Preferences:

· Previous experience as an administrator (school-, district-, or state-level)

· Marketing knowledge

· Background in business
