Research Analyst II - Part Time - School of Nursing (Job Number: 1700525)


About the Position:

The Vanderbilt University School of Nursing is in need of a Research Analyst II to provide support for social and health related research involving the oncology patient population. As a Research Analyst II, you will investigate, gather, assess and clarify data, as well as coordinate general laboratory maintenance and inventory control.


  • Recruiting, screening, determining eligibility, and enrolling study participants from clinics in an accurate and timely manner

  • Communicates with study participants and maintains accurate records to document recruitment efforts and other research data

  • Organizes study visits

  • Administers informed consent

  • Manages and performs study-related procedures as required by the protocol

  • Prepares and stores critical documents and assures that the integrity and quality of the clinical research trial is maintained

  • Understands and maintains OHRP, GCP/ICH guidelines, and HIPAA regulations

  • Collects clinical data for research purpose

  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation

  • Follows the protocol and utilizes problem-solving skills to address participant/study problems to assure goals are met

  • Prepares, organizes, and assists in site visits including audits from regulatory authorities

  • Supervise and train Research Analyst I and student assistants

  • Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and REDCap

  • Experience recruiting study participants preferred

  • Research experience

  • Data collection and data entry experience

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Experience working in a clinical setting preferred but not required

  • Individuals with RN license preferred but not required

Additional Information:

This is a part time, 20 hour per week position.
