Term Research Assistant I - Biochemistry (Job Number: 1800797)


About the Position:

Seeking a motivated, independent laboratory technician to assist with animal experimentation and general laboratory function. Responsibilities will include mouse husbandry and colony management, experimental tumor treatment in vivo, cancer cell culturing, data collection and management. Will report to a postdoctoral fellow or the laboratory manager as a direct supervisor. One to two years, limited position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepares tissues for experiments

  • Animal experimentationincluding cancer cell injection and tumor growth quantitation

  • Uses scientific software to analyze and interpretexperiment results

  • Data generation for lab members andcollaborators

  • Data organization

  • Opportunity to learn computationalskills


  • Bachelor's degree with major course works in one of the basic sciences.

  • A working knowledge of basic laboratory techniques and instrumentation is required with at least one year of relevant laboratory experience.

  • Previous experience in laboratory animal colony management required

  • Experience in tissue culturetechniques is required

  • Background in biology ispreferred
